2021 Elections for WFSF President & Executive Board – A 2-Step Process
The WFSF Executive Board and President may be re-elected to serve for up to two consecutive four-year terms. We are very fortunate that, as with the last Election in 2017, almost half the current Executive Board are willing to serve for a second term if the Members want. This is common practice in high levels of government where Senate elections are often staggered so that only half members are replaced at any Election. While not locked into our Constitution, the desire of eligible Board Members to stand for a second term is a demonstration of their commitment to the Federation, and the cooperation and harmony of Board working relationships. This has the potential to ensure continuity and consolidation of the Federation’s strength and direction, especially with regard to our UNESCO and UN cooperation.
Step 1: Nomination procedure – NOMINATIONS Open 31 March & Close 9 April
Nomination Forms will be distributed 31st March (today) to all WFSF members through the e-list. Any paid-up member[1] of the Federation has the right to nominate one candidate for the role of WFSF President and up to nine candidates for the roles of WFSF Executive Board members.
Before nominating a candidate for either President or Executive Board, please check that your nominees are both willing and able to carry out and sustain the active workload that comes with these roles.
**Please be aware that all these roles involve a four-year commitment: June 2021-June 2025**
Please email your completed NOMINATION Form by 9th April to WFSF Accountant: Ms. Evelyne KOENIG.

Electing WFSF Executive Board Members: Candidates for the nine Executive Board positions must have been members of WFSF for four years and Full Members. The new WFSF Fellows all qualify and so do many other members. If in doubt ask. See also Extract from WFSF Constitution below.
The Constitution recommends taking into account the following principles:
- No more than six of the nine EB members to represent one gender.
- At least three from non-OECD countries and at least three from OECD countries.
Step 2: Voting procedure – BALLOT Opens 10 May & Close 14 May
After the WFSF Auditor finalizes the nominations and sends the President a certified note by 16th April, the candidates will be informed of their candidacy and registered on the Ballot Form. Candidates who are willing to stand will submit their vision statement to the President to distribute to the WFSF e-list. Members have 5 days to consider their choices. On the 10th May the President will open the Ballot by sending each member a voting form with instructions. The Ballot will close on the 14th May.
