CIVISTI: Citizen Visions on Science Technology and Innovation

The CIVISTI project is a European research foresight project funded by the Socio-economic, Sciences and Humanities (SSH) Programme. The aim of the project was to identify new, emerging topics for the EU R&D policy by consulting citizens in 7 European countries (Denmark, Austria, Flanders/Belgium, Finland, Malta, Bulgaria, Hungary). The CIVISTI project uncovered European citizens’ visions of the future and transformed these into relevant long-term science, technology and innovation issues.

Cultural Policies in Africa 2014

The Observatory of Cultural Policies in Africa (OCPA) is a Pan African international NGO created in 2002 with the support of African Union, the Ford Foundation, and UNESCO. Its aim is to monitor cultural trends and national cultural policies in the region and to enhance their integration in human development strategies through advocacy, information, research, capacity building, networking, co-ordination, and cooperation at the regional and international levels.

The OECD_IdeaFactory invites OECD Forum participants and experts to work together and combine

21 Issues for the 21st Century: Results of the UNEP Foresight Process on Emerging Environmental Issues

The purpose of the UNEP Foresight Process is to produce, every two years, a careful and authoritative
ranking of the most important emerging issues related to the global environment. UNEP aims to inform the UN and wider international community about these issues on a timely basis, as well as provide input to its own work programme and that of other UN agencies, thereby fulfilling the stipulation of
its mandate: “keeping the global environment under review and bringing emerging issues to the attention of governments and the international community for action”.

Foresight in Governments EU 2013

Foresight in Governments – Practices and Trends around the World

This study provides the initial results of a survey of foresight activities undertaken by a select group of governments around the world.
The study was begun following the recent initiative by European Union (EU) institutions to build a joint foresight capacity (European Strategy and Policy Analysis System – ESPAS) that assesses long-term global trends to help them strengthen policy planning. In addition to contributing to the discussion about this new EU activity, the study is also intended to be of interest for the wider European policy planning community and to anyone interested in learning about how governments practise ‘the art of the long view’ (Schwartz, 1991).

The Future of Cities Forum is an annual international forum on regenerative cities bringing together mayors, city councillors, urban planners, researchers, practitioners and representatives of civil society and the private sector to discuss key challenges and solutions for regenerative urban development.
