World Futures Learning Lab (LEALA) is co-funded by WFSF and the UNESCO Participation Program (2012-2013). LEALA continues the development of the OCPR and introduces three pilot projects in DR Congo, Egypt and Malaysia. 
Penang, Malaysia
The Penang Pilot of LEALA with host and co-organizer “Think City” provides an introductory futures course entitled “Transforming Cities 2030”. This course held over three days at the end of March 2014 in Penang Malaysia is aimed at leadership in urban development in the region. See Workshop Website.

 

 

4. Congo LEALA GroupCairo, Egypt
For the Cairo pilot of LEALA, WFSF Fellow and Founding Member Emeritus Professor Samir Ghabbour worked with Cairo University and the Institute of African Research & Studies (IARS) to organize a 

“Conference on the Future of African World Heritage” on Thursday 28 November 2013.
Lubumbashi, Democratic Republic of Congo
Coordinated by WFSF Executive Board Member, Dr. Maya van Leemput, LEALA in Katanga aims to provide high standard futures education and introductions to futures studies education in this copper-mining province of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC). This pilot benefits young adults, artists and creative professionals and NGO workers based in Lubumbashi.
